ENERGY COMPARISON TOOL - RELEASE 2.0 PREMIERES FOR TVA

Atlanta, Georgia - Enercom^®, Inc. has implemented Version 2.0 of its Internet-based Energy Comparison Tool for the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). The Comparison Tool is powerful Internet-based software which allows customers to easily compare the annual energy use/cost and simple payback period for a wide range of home heating and cooling and water heating options.  The Energy Comparison Tool originally opened for TVA in July of this year.  Version 2.0 expands the menu of home systems that can be analyzed to include a wide range of electric, natural gas, propane and fuel oil systems including dual-fuel systems and geothermal heat pumps.  The Energy Comparison Tool automatically uses local energy costs for all calculations but Version 2.0 also allows customers to view these energy costs and change them.

Utilities can now provide customers with the self-service Energy Comparison Tool to simplify customers’ decisions and help them make the best possible energy choices.  Enercom’s software allows customers to quickly and easily compare their existing home heating and cooling system or water heater with a range of new systems.  They can also compare two different new systems to each other.  Customers can select from a variety of system types, energy sources and efficiencies.  Within a minute, customers receive an estimate of each system’s annual energy use and cost, annual and monthly energy and cost savings for the more efficient system as well as the simple payback period.

The Energy Comparison Tool integrates with the utility’s website and is presented under the utility’s name and brand supporting its "Energy Expert" relationship with customers.  Enercom can implement the software quickly and with little requirement for utility resources or IT involvement.  Enercom also provides ongoing software hosting and maintenance services.  The Energy Comparison Tool is affordable with price plans for utilities of all sizes.  Customization and self-hosting options are also available.
